The Fanthorpes’ Christmas Saga December 2012

This year has been a full and busy one:
Although great sadness mingled with the fun.
Theo just reached his 70th in May –
Then in the month of June he passed away.
Recorded “Something Else” for Radio Wales
In spite of January's storms and gales.
Then London BBC it's good to mention
Announced some programmes for 7th Dimension.
Glastonbury Radio shows again in Feb:
Work with Ross Hemsworth who is their celeb.
Then Wedding Blessing for Nicky and Dave –
Our ASSAP friends – the snow we had to brave!
Fiona came to see us – lovely break –
We fed the ducks with her on Roath Park Lake.
Also in February the family came
To share my birthday meal – still feel the same –
Though I was born in 1935
Thanks to Patricia I still live and thrive!
More London work then for the BBC
Seventh Dimension suits us perfectly.
In March to Preston – conference on conjecture --
On “Our Mysterious Earth” I gave a lecture.
Our Moz and Steph laid on a lovely meal:
Such family events we find ideal.
Recorded show for ITV in Wales –
Let's hope publicity increases sales!
King Arthur's Annual Dinner, Tintagel,
Is much enjoyed: they always treat us well.
In June to Worcester University –
Mensa weekend up there on “Mystery.”
By Theosophicists we were invited
To lecture for them, always quite delighted.
Also July, and very glad to say,
Our friend Sky came to us from USA.
Stephanie's Birthday and we all went out:
Chepstow and other places round about.
Caerleon Roman ruins, well worth seeing –
For several centuries they've been in being!
Still in July, and this time we are heading
To Norfolk for Amie and Robert's Wedding.
In August lots of radio work we mention
BBC Extra and Seventh Dimension.
Then mystery programmes for the South and West.
These paranormal programmes suit us best.
Discworld Convention came in August too
With Terry Pratchett and the Discworld crew.
September seventh: anniversary –
Fifty-five years is Emerald we agree!
We had a lovely anniversary feed
With all the family to enrich the deed.
Then we went on the famous Jumbo Run –
A bikers' charity that gives kids fun.
“Face to Face” programme next on ITV
With Adrian Masters interviewing me.
Another show then for Wales Radio –
Then for BUFORA off to London go.
October second: very special day –
Patricia's birthday meal, Caerphilly way.
Stephanie took us there – happy occasion –
It was a lovely birthday celebration.
Then for another of our radio deeds
We did a broadcast for BBC Leeds.
The first days of October had all gone
Fiona ran in the Half-Marathon.
'Twas here in Cardiff they ran the event –
We stood and cheered her as around she went.
Then London for another radio day –
Helping the show called GRIMM along its way.
November next, Fiona came to call  –
We love time with our family one and all.
Then up Worcester once again we went –
To speak at ASSAP as their President.
In Croydon next a happy time we spend
With Dave and John – we had a great week-end.
Then came a radio piece: BBC Kent
And then to Pontllanfraith to talk we went
For their Historical Society
Spoke about Sauniere and his mystery.
Peter and Lynn came down for the weekend –
With friends like them the time is good to spend.
The Christmas Service then up at Thornhill:
I love conducting those and always will.
Next year our latest book our friends can see:
This one is based on “Numerology”.
So that's our Christmas Saga for the year –
Best wishes, Christmas happiness and cheer,
To all our friends and family – near and far.
Look up and see the glorious Christmas Star.
Think of Wise Men and Shepherds – be like them
And go in thought to visit Bethlehem.
Think of the Christ Child – born to save us all –
So let us answer to his loving call.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
